No Vacancy

So strange to

almost

enjoy the slide

into a panic

or depression

it's odd

to be so calm

even a snap

in the

mind

recalls

better days

nostalgia

for times of golden joys

is common

dare I say it

normal

too normal

and even dull

who does not want

a return

to pleasure

but dreaming of pain

like an old

lover

wanting him back

like a bad

habit

or addiction of the heart

just to feel

his teeth again

on your soul

is so

deviant

it feels good

it feels like

being bathed in a hot

wine/blood

of passion

of feeling

after a cool dry spell

spent in

air conditioned

unreal

anaesthesia

living in your life

like a temporary tenant

rather than living it

even the teeth

of pain

feel wanted

and something truer

when contrasted

with the crisp comfortable

cleanliness

of a neat clean empty heart

picking its way deftly

through a vacant life

welcome home
